Quick question about Kribensis

I have both a male and a female Kribensis and they seemed to have coupled up together. The female keeps turning her belly a bright red and puffing it up when the two appear to be playing. Is this some kind of mating ritual? Also, would like to know how fast they grow. They are literally only 1 inch long each right now. So I thought they may be too young for it but when I called my friend who has been working with fish for over 20 years and works at one of the LFS in town he said that they could mate whenever they felt ready to.

Kribs can spawn pretty small, but 1 inch is probably a little early. The females will be more receptive to an older male also then one their own size. She will get her abdomen really red and will clamp her fins to emphasize the abdomen to entice the male. You will also start seeing a dance from the female that can best be described as seizure-like. She'll undulate her body really fast for short bursts. It's pretty entertaining to watch their overall interactions. Kribs can be pretty easy to spawn, almost as easy as convicts.
