Questions About Tank

Hey Everyone, I am new here, but not new to the fish world. I used to breed electric Blue Dempsey’s back in the day. I have however been out of the game for a while. I recently got a 55 gallon off Craigslist for a great which included the stand, lights and various other things. I had set it up and went to put my background on today when I saw what looks like two cracks in the glass... I guess my question is should I be worried about them or keep the tank setup?

Thank you

I wouldn’t worry to much, maybe throw a little silicone on there just to be safe but I don’t think that’s a huge deal

More of a chip not a crack. No problem.....

I had little chips in my 75g, and had no issues at all with it.

Really? I don’t want anything to get bigger and possibly break. I know most aquariums are built tough, but you never know.

Weird part is they are smoothe to the touch

Maybe that’s just how the glass was made, just an imperfection

Probably just scratches and not a crack

This is how I rationalised my chips: since the chip isn't deeper than the piece of glass that it adjoins and the silicone is in good shape it shouldn't be an issue. I used the tank with similar looking chips for several years. I only stopped using that tank because I needed to downsize.

Does the damage extend deeper into that plane of glass? Or is just on the side like it's shown in the picture?
