Questions about food from Ken's

I'm needing to get some more betta pellets, veggie wafers, and some kind of small crumble/pellet for my neons.

1) Currently, I feed the neons (and the guppies who are in the same tank) the HikarI micro pellets. They seem to eat them well, but the micro pellets are almost $4 for 1.5 ounces!! Ken's has a food called '' that I'm thinking about getting and am wondering if this is okay for the adult neons and guppies? It says it is a fry/juvie food.

2) I feed the bettas a pellet made by Omega One. I have no idea what size these pellets are but they seem rather small. I was thinking of getting this '' and was wondering if anyone has tried it? Is it comparable to the Omega One pellets?

3) Finally, the veggie wafers. I don't currently have any algae-eating fish so these are solely for snails. All of my tanks have some combination of mystery, trumpet, ramshorn, and bladder snails (not all snails in all tanks though!). I was thinking of getting these '' but had also considered getting these ''. Obviously, the veggie wafers are cheaper and I would like to get these but I realize that the veggie sticks are probably better for them. What I'm wondering is if the veggie wafers are acceptable? I have clam shells in the tanks with mystery snails and use Tums whenever they seem to be needing some extra calcium, so I don't know that I really need a food with extra calcium.

A lot of questions, I know, but I want to make sure I get what's best for my little friends

As an after-thought, I wonder if I should get something different to feed the darter? Currently I'm feeding him shrimp pellets and I've seen him 'suck' snails a time or two. They are carnivorous from what info I can find, but I just want to make sure. If I need something different for him I'd like to get it with this order and avoid having to pay shipping twice.

I suggest a variety of foods. veggie wafers you can obtain at your local walmart. As for my guppies, their main food staple are flakes and I supplement them with pellets, live worms, blanched veggies, crushed veggie wafers and brine shrimp. sometimes I just mix a bunch of dry foods, this would allow them to consume a variety. Remember, just because your fish can consume protein products, does not mean that they should only eat protein unless they are carnivores.

We've used Ken's food exclusively for years. I do have a variety of the flakes and wafers and cichlid mix with sticks. I love the stuff. So do the fish. Because you can purchase in larger bags, you're keeping your overall cost down. I highly recommend them.

The algae wafers at walmart are garbage, my snails won't eat them. Which is why I wanted to get some different ones. I used to have some NLS algae wafers that they loved but those are expensive. These at Ken's are veggie wafers, not just algae, so I think they'll be good. However, the question was are they okay for snails or should I get the veggie sticks with calcium? Both have calcium but the veggie sticks have extra added.

As for the food, I realize that they need a variety, and I have other foods available. I was just wondering if the higher protein food is okay to feed adult fish. I assume it's fine for the guppies (will only make them reproduce more I suspect), but I'm not sure about the neons. And since the food comes in 1/2 pound, 1 pound, or 5 pounds, I figure I'll just feed it to all my fish. But I'm wondering if it's okay to feed the higher protein to adult fish.

Good morning,

When I had my Betta, Wriggley, he loved the NLS food below:

As a staple for all of my fish now, I use NLS (New Life Spectrum) Thera +A.

I also order from Ken's for most all of my dry foods. Earthworm sticks, Algae Wafers, Vegetable Wafers, Spirulina Sticks. Also my freeze dried foods such as Krill Superba, Red Shrimp come from Ken's. I've never been disappointed with Ken's and neither has my fish .

I've never had an issue feeding any food from Ken's to my juveniles through adults. I alternate foods so that they almost don't eat the same thing twice in one week .

Wow, a 1/2 pound of food for only $2, good deal. I may try some myself.
