Questions About Ferts

Ok, so I found a place I can get ADA green brighty (great name eh?) For pretty cheap and was wondering what nutrients steps 1-3 contain, and if ada ferts are any good.

My next question is: I have to dose ferts in the morning (6:00AM) as I don't get home until 4, sometimes later, and I would like to enjoy my tanks when I get home, so this would be the most likely schedule.
Dose ferts: 6am
Co2 on: 11am
Lights on: 1pm
Co2 off: 7pm
Lights off 9pm
Or does it cause issues to have ferts sitting in the tank for that long.

Seachem excel has a 24 hour half life. I also use seachem flourish Advance. I am getting shoots and roots like crazy!

Also, I have the Finnex 24/7 planted + light. It is a natural cycle of light. There is no ramping. I can't even see the light change.

I looked at their website and they don't really mention macros in a definitive way for steps 1-3. It kind of looks like they have the Seachem thing going on where they package everything into more than 5 separate bottles.

Alright, what is a good all in one fertilizer? I have heard Thrive mentined before. I dislike having 5 or more bottles of fertilizer when I could have one. Or is it better to have multiple bottles for fine tuning.

I have a feeling it doesn't have much in the way of macros as they also had specific bottles containing macros (brighty n, p, and k)

Individual bottles are good if you want to tweak the levels of different things, I personally use thrive and I like it a lot.

Hmmmm in that case I will probably use individual bottles (flourish or ADA if they still have it) on my 5gal high tech and thrive, or some other AIO on my 125.
Thanks.

ADA ferts could not be any better! If you decide to get them we can discuss them further! You can find their specifications on ADA's website. They are very different from the Seachem approach. You can safely dose them at 6 am. Wait 5 minutes between the Brighty K and the Step 1 while dosing! I wouldn't cut the CO2 supply 2 hours before lights off because any fluctuations will trigger algae. If you really want to save up on CO2 1 hour would be the maximum.

I'm thinking next time I go to that LFS I will get them, will probably be in about a few weeks to a month.

So look at ADA's website it seems brighty steps 1-3 are all for different "stages" of a planted tank, correct? I am assuming they don't contain "complete" nutrients as they also are selling Brighty N, K and iron (or trace.)

What is the difference between them and the seachem flourish line?

They contain well adjusted complete nutrients. K, N, Iron and Phosphorus are nutrients to adjust aside from the other ones so they have separate bottles for them in case you want to dose higher but the regular bottles also contain them. I wouldn't dose N, Phosphorus or Iron during the initial months. Just dose Step-1 ( dosen't contain Iron, N or Phosphorus ) and Brighty K for the first few months and then switch to Step-2 ( also contains Iron ). ADA's website explains these better then me You should download the booklets to learn about them.

Did not notice the booklets when I initially looked into them, I must be blind. Are there any others besides just the one?

So, you always want to be dosing Brighty K and you can adjust if you see any deficiencies?

Yes you should always be dosing Brighty K and Step 1 ( or Brighty Mineral ).
