questions about double tank stands

I've got a couple of questions for those with double tank stands. I've got my 37 gallon tank up and running and am looking to add a 20 high and 10 gallon tanks next to it on their own double stand that I want to make. I'm curious if anyone has built one for these sizes or similar. I've got an idea sketched of my own (also very open to anyone else's plans!), but am not sure if it's better to put the 20 on the top or bottom, as I'm not sure how nice it will be to have a tank that is only a few inches off the ground. Can you really enjoy a "low" tank?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

I have a 29 gallon with a 10 gallon on the bottom. My dad built the stand for me. It's an extra short stand as I wanted a custom one so that my 29 gallon could fit below my window. The 10 gallon is only a few inches above the ground but it still stands out in the room! I really enjoy it. Both the tanks are planted so they both tie in together and one doesn't draw attention away from the other which I think is important. At first I was really worried as both the tanks were going to be so low compared to my other stands but now that the tanks are up there I don't even realize just how low they are. Eventually I'll upgrade the 10 gallon to a 20 gallon but for now it's a 10g.

Thanks for your post, any chance you can put a pic of it here so I can see how it looks?

I have a double 20 setup and honestly I don't look into the bottom as much. What I did thou Is I use that lower tank as a QT or hospital tank

That's what I don't want to happen, to have a tank I barely look at.

Piranha, could you post a pic of it?

I could but I'm not home right now lol. Its a standard 20 high setup on a cast iron stand with another 20 high below. The lower tank is a pain to get into as well.

Here it is!

I really like mine, but if you're worried about having a double stand then maybe just stick with single stands if you can? I only went with a double stand because I'm completely out of wall space with all my other tanks.

Thanks for the pic. I'm hoping to start building one similar this weekend, but still debating about making the 20h go on the top or bottom.
