Question Regarding Firemouth Pairs

Would one be able to keep 2 pairs of firemouths in a 55? If not, would one pair with larger tetras work? I'm fairly new to the cichlid world and am getting some contradictions in what people are telling me. Any help is appreciated, especially if you have had personal experience with the species :)

2 pairs might cause some problems. You could do the larger tetras, but know that you will have a lower survival rate for spawns and their is a higher chance of the adults eating the eggs from stress.

    Thank you very much!

How would you recommend finding a pair?

Check out aquabid.com. I would also look at your lfs's tank for fish that appear to have paired up already. You could also do a 1:2 ratio until they pair up.

Haha the nearest pet store is a couple hours away XD I'll try ordering some off aquabid or do the 1:2. Thank you!
