Question On Snails

will a snail survive in an uncycled tank for about a week?

 

Probably. What snail?

 

a nerite. I have a couple nerite in my 29 gallon so if the Betta attacks it, it has another place it can go. Few years ago I had a Betta by himself in the 29 gallon added 1 snail and he killed it. Currently cycling a tank before I buy a Betta.

 

All bettas have different personalitys. So far my baby female tryed to kill my snail,but my male doesn't mind him

 

My Nerite went through my cycle along with the Betta and is still going strong after 4 1/2 months. The Betta completely ignores him since he is no competition for food. There was one day when the snail was getting close to the surface and Benny kept fully flaring at it and even pecking at it's shell. I couldn't understand why until I noticed Benny blowing bubbles up against the side of the filter. He was just guarding his nest even though there was nothing in it. When the snail went back down, Benny went back to ignoring him.
