I have 6 rosy barbs, 2 dalmation mollys, and 6 prestella tetra, and the thermometer says 78 , but I don't know if its correct its a cheap thermometer it came with a aquarium kit I bought in june

Symptoms include stress, sluggishness, loss of appetite, ich outbreaks, etc. Even though the heater is small for your tank, unless its SUPER cold where you live, its probably doing a good enough job. Its probably just running non stop or with very little down time.

You could get a thermometer to test the accuracy of the heater but otherwise unless it's very cold where you live it should be okay. I mean fish naturally have to deal with the seasons in the wild and that's why a lot of fish profile websites list a considerable temperature range like 68-79F or something like that. So it should be okay until Monday so long as they're not already exhibiting the aforementioned symptoms courtesy of DuaneV.
