Question About My Angels

I have two adult Angels I received two weeks ago. Not sure of their ages but by their size would say they are pretty mature. They were described by breeder as EL by breeder. One is more than half the size of my palm the other slightly smaller. No signs of tubes on either. They are in a 26gallon quarantine for now. Should I put a piece of slate in to see if either spawn or just let them be? My intention is to transfer them into a 55 gallon in another 2-3 weeks. I do have four small angels in another 55 waiting for them to mature and see what I get there as far as pairs. It would be nice if my two in quarantine were a pair (and liked being so) because their nice Koi Angels. I'm assuming you won't see tubes unless they are spawning?

What does "EL" mean?

ya, if they are a breeding pair and ready to spawn, you should see breeding tubes.

Thanks, EL I assumed was extra large as opposed to dime, nickel, quarter etc. Okay, so if both were males I would not see tubes, but if both were females I could? I've heard females can lay eggs without males present.

I have had females lay eggs together, yes.

Can you post pictures of them? Sexing them is impossible to do with 100% accuracy unless you see a successful spawn. But I can give it a shot!!

My photography skills are such that I'm not sure where our camera even is.
