Question about buying from Tank Dreams

Does anyone have experience buying from Tank Dreams? I'm not familiar with them, but I like that I have the option of buying a specific gender for certain species.

I actually have an order due from him. Ordered via the GetGills site.
Communication was great in the beginning, however it would appear that life events have taken over as I've not heard from him in a week now.
He did mention he had a large order due in from Indonesia on the 20th. Could be he's just super busy.
I'm the patient type.. so I'll give him a bit. Small business deserves a break every now and then.

I never ended up ordering from him, though eventually I'll be looking to purchase Bolivian rams and probably a male peacock gudgeon from somewhere. Curious to hear how things go for WetElbows, though I'd rather buy US-bred fishes if possible.

Ordered via the GetGills website.
Ordered 32 Black Neon Tetras on 5/8/21.
On 5/10/21 received a nice e-mail informing me that his inventory of the Tetras was slightly off, he only had 20 available. Options and suggestions were given on how to proceed. Upon searching, he did find more tetras in an additional tank. Order to be mailed out on Sat. (5/15/21)
On 5/19/21 I had still not received my order, so I reached out for an update. (mostly due to not receiving any tracking info)
On 5/25/21 received tracking info.
Order arrived on 5/27/21, with only 24 of the 32 original order.
Again I reached out to see how we can make good on the difference.
Darren had already credited back the difference to my credit card. He "forgot" to tell me of the updated quantity.

In my opinion, only thing lacking was the communication. I honestly don't expect 'Amazon Prime' type shipping. The health of the fish are my primary concern.
In addition, on the GetGills site, he really needs to adjust his inventory level to an accurate count. As of today, a customer on the site would believe he has 13 Black Neons available.
His website show's a lot of 'out of stocks' currently. I'd suggest contacting him for availability first.

My order did arrived in great condition. Nice Styrofoam box, fish packed in breather bags, and very healthy fish. I'm very happy!

Will I buy from Darren, Tankdreamsonline, again? Absolutely!!

 

I just had a terrible experience with this sell. Would not recommend. I placed an order on sept 3 and had no further contact from him. I sent several emails and none were ever acknowledged. Then today instead of contacting me my order was cancelled. Still no sign of a refund but we will see I guess. I ordered after seeing this review. After checking google and Facebook I realized that was a mistake. If you value your time and money do not waste your time on his website, Facebook or getgills account. Be warned.
