Question About Air Stone, Can Be Turned Off At Night?

Hello All, I have a 45 gallon tank lot of plants in it (dont ask me the name) a canister filter, and an air stone. My question is...can I turn off the airstone at night? It makes this irritating vibration noise which my family complaints about while sleeping. Can we stop the aireation for just the night?

Yes, that would be fine. If the airstone was powering a sponge filter then it would need to be left on, but as you have a canister it will be fine.

In many setups, air stones aren't necessary at all - you could remove it if there is surface agitation from the canister filter.
