quarantine tank for adf

Hello Fishlore people

I am new on the forum but have read most of the old threads in the amphibians section, I really like this forum. I was thinking about getting another adf to go with the five I already have in a 10 gal. tank (I know, the tank could be bigger for 5 adf, I had them in there for almost 2 years now..)It is so hard to resist in getting a new frog......

my questions are: would that be ok if I quarantine my adf for 2 months in a small heathed kritter carrier with no filter(about 1 gallon)? if yes, how often should I change the water and how much%?

your opinions would be apprecaited
thanks!

HI marijo welcome to FishLore!!

African Dwarf Frogs are are to resist.

How awesome that you know to quarantine you frogs for that long
It's hard to do, I know!

I don't know what a heathed kritter carrier is.
I've used Kritter Keepers. I'm assuming it's the same thing?
If so, that would be fine. 1 gallon is ok for temporary housing.

Probably 50% every other day water changes will do. Let your water readings be your guide on that.

Post some pics soon!
Good luck!

sorry Lucy, I meant a Kritter Keeper with a small heather for Betta fish, quarantine is something I learn on this forum....there is not a lot of forums dedicated to adf

thanks for your help!

Welcome marijo!
Great to have you here. I hope you share your experiences with keeping ADF. I just started a frog tank and I found out it's very difficult to find more than general info.

I look forward to your posts!

Only concern I see is keeping the temp comfortable to him. Do you have a small heater to put in the QT tank? Or some other means of keeping the temp constant and comfortable for him?

There was a typo.
heathed = heated
heather = heater
