Quality dry food (read it all before comment) ?

I'm looking for some quality dry food for my critters. Right now i mostly feed them tetra and spirulina 20 flakes; nls regular formula a pellets; hiraki pellets and warden shrimp pellets.
-
I've tried hikari tubifex worms and omega-one shrimp pellets. The tubifex I will probalby have to throw away (I soak it in water for 30 minutes and try to stick it to the tank but it doesn't stick it floats and no one will eat it). The omega shrimp pellets are very hard and while the clown loaches first snub at it they seemed to reconsider and will slowly munch it along with the pleco but most of the fishes (esp the angels) won't touch it.
-
The angels strongly prefer tetra flakes and warden shrimp pellets. Warden shrimp pellets - some folks claim are not very healthy but the angles love them because they are soft - like wise a lot of my smaller fishes love them because they quickly break down into small edible portion.
-
So I'm looking for dry food that is at least in theory better for the fishes than warden shrimp pellets or hiraki loach pellets but the fishes actually like and will eat. I'd like to get off of flakes or at least get higher quality (nutrition) than tetra flake but the angels will actually eat - and i have to keep the angels well fed because i'm in no mood for cardinal hunting angels.
--
Any suggestion for other foods i can try. I have different tanks so fishes i'm feeding include angels, loaches (gold zebra, clown, zebra), cory (sterbai, orange laser, pygmy), guppies, kribs, apistogamma (some fishes like kuhli not mentioned because they will eat anything and the plecos eat too much meat so something they like less would be fine).

They are so gross knowing they are made of bugs....lol They do love them though. I rotate with bloodworms. brine shrimp and various pellets too.

But what kind of fishes and are bug bites good nutrition? Vaguely I think i have some thing similar that i feed frys but the stuff i have is very fine grain and frys only - also it doesn't sink and a lot of my fishes like food on the bottom - if this stuff floats 9/10 fishes I have will starve.

I have Rams, SAE, Embers, Cardinals, Von Rios, Danios, Amanos they all eat it. When I feed flakes in put them under water and release them so they drift to the bottom. Same with the granules they don't float.

The bug bites do float at first but then they begin to sink. I use the tropical bug bites for my community tank that has a variety of tetras, corys, a few pleco, angelfish, and one kribensis cichlid . I used to feed only cichlid bug bites but I think that the tropical ones are better for a wider range of fish.

What size do feed your fishes - the small to medium or medium to large. My fishes are mostly 2 to 4 inches long with a few 5. The angels are adults but the loaches are a mix bag with the smallest being 1.5 and the largest 5+.

I just looked. They have some but still shipping around 7$. And yes they are expensive but they are quality flakes. Made from quality ingredients. I'll sacrifice the shipping cost. I also ordered eggs from them and they are top notch

I can't even figure which of their flakes are good for my fishes. They have different ones but heck if i know if i should feed them cool myst or cool chilid or cool colour. Last but least my fishes are too finicky. My angels are like little dogs when i toss in warden shrimp pellets. They jump to grab em (in the water - i don't tease my fish by making them do tricks). Pity warden shrimps are said to be not that great (i don't actually know).

Yea I spent an hour looking through the site to decide what to get. But I got Rams and tetras that will eat some plants also so I got the cool mix. Shipping sucked but I got a big container that will last a while

Hum. My ram and tetra never eat plants (which kind of tetra?). I think my clown loaches are doing something naughty at night but they always wait for me to fall asleep before misbehaving.

I might try some - i'm going to try the bug bites first. They are great - same day shipping free on amazon. Order them and they will be later today. Also need to finish up some of the flakes i have. The spirulina 20 is suppose to be good stuff but the fishes aren't that crazy about it but they love the unhealthy tetra flakes (don't really know they are unhealthy - just what others have said).

Maybe they will only like unhealthy foods. Sort of like kids.

Do your fishes go for the cool mix or do they eat it begrudgingly because that is all that is available ?

I have seen my Rams bite elodea on several occasions. and I have cardinal and skirts. They all love the food. The tetras don't go for the veggie flakes as readily as the Rams. Bug bites are supposed to be good also

I feed both sizes. My largest are about two and a half inches long, and smallest are about an inch long.
