Qt Tank With Ghost Shrimp

Upgrading from a 10 gallon to a 36g and turning the 10 gallon into a QT tank. I'm going to be migrating all of my fish out of the 10 gallon here shortly. I have 8-9 ghost shrimp in the 10 gallon and wondering if they can stay in there during the QT time (which will be a while because I'm going to QT by species so it will take me 3 months or so?

I know that if I need to dose some sort of meds, I'll need to get them out and will move them, but I wanted to let my 36g become more established before I put them in there and I don't know if shrimp could actually catch a fish disease.

At the end of my QT period, my 36g will have become more established and I could migrate them over.

I have another established 10 gallon that I could put them in but it already has 8-9 ghost shrimp in there already and don't want to make it too crowded.

Thoughts? Thanks

Most shrimp don’t take too well to meds.
That’s just my experience though.

Yeah, I'm sure they don't that's why I stated above that if I needed to dose meds I would take them out before I put anything in the tank. I'm not planning on prophylactically dosing any medication for my new fish while they're in the QT. I'm just wondering if I did happen to buy a fish and the had some sort of illness would the shrimp be at risk of catching it?

Guessing that was said with some sarcasm??? I got these 10 and miraculously, I've only lost one who got himself stuck in the filter intake. Other than that, these guys have done surprisingly well. I'll just take them out and put them in my other 10g.

No sarcasm. They are literally the hardiest animals that I have ever kept.

Really??? Wow. I assume that's not the version of ghost shrimp I bought at Petsmart? I think those are just feeder quality. I bought an original 10 and they started dying the next day and got down to about 3 or 4.

I went back a few weeks later and bought 15. 5 for the tank with the originals and 10 for my other 10 gallon and I've only lost the one that got stuck in the intake. Other than that, they have done great and a growing nicely.

I never knew they were considered hardy. Do you think I could just put them into my 36g even though it will be a new tank or would it be better to put them in my established 10 gallon even though there are another 8-9 ghosties in there?

You can just put them in the 36. I bought 20 feeder ghosts and there’s are still 20 in my goldfish tank a month later. I’m gett8ng more right now.
