Python No Spill Clean And Fill - Additive Question?

HI Folks,
Been looking at the Python No Spill Clean And Fill and it looks great. However, one thing has got me wondering if its going to be any use...

I have always done it with a 10litre watering can, getting the temp right and adding dechlorinator BEFORE putting the water into the tank.

What are folk who use this (if any?) doing about the dechlorinator side?
The hot water mix I can figure out if I hook up a mixer somehow, but not the dechlorinator?

Can anyone advise?

Add your dechlor to your tank before you start filling.

See... I knew that was going to be the answer, but is it proven to work ok?
I assumed if I was changing say, 170litres of a 340 litre aquarium that adding that much dechlorinator to the 170litres still in the tank would either bother the inmates, or see it gassed off and diluted so much during the fill that it wouldn't actually do the job I had intended for it.

If you guys say it works, that's probably enough for me, but I really wanted to clarify how you folk went about it as my back isn't what it used to be and carrying 17 bloody buckets of water to and fro isn't appealing at all!

Add your dechlor to your tank before you start filling.

Really it is that simple. Drain, add your declor and fill. You'll get your water changes done in about half the time and it's pain free as well lol.

I've been using a water changer for years. I add enough dechlorinator to treat the entire volume of the tank before I start filling.

My setup is a step beyond Python, tanks are drilled with overflows for water changes. They get GPM timed out, once done draining they get a squirt of Prime. Many years of this, never a problem. Countless folks add dechlorinator before filling with a Python, or hose, no issues.

Brilliant news, thanks folks. Appreciate your time and expertise.

Just to clarify - I would add the prime dose for the whole 350 litre every time then, not just the amount being changed? Even if only changing say, 50 litres?

I always treat for the entire volume of the tank. Seachem instructs to treat the entire volume because chlorine will be dispersed throughout the entire tank, not just in the 50 liters that are replaced.

Having just been looking on my prime bottle it does actually say that it's BETTER to add it to just the new water but indeed it says you can add it to the whole tank and to base it on the whole volume of doing so.

The prime bottle isn't referring to the python situation though....is it? Meaning....they are talking about treating the water in the bucket before putting it in the tank. The reason for treating the entire tank when using the python is because the water is going directly into the tank. It isn't staying confined to a 5 gallon bucket to be dechlorinated before going into the tank....

I add my prime before I add the water. I add enough to treat the whole tank.

Pythons are great! You'll be glad you got one.

Word, someone already asked my million dollar question!! I've been sitting here staring lazily at all my tanks, knowing I'm behind on all the water changes, having called out of work half because I'm not feeling well and half because I need to maintain the tanks but ugh, I'm finally not at work for once and I don't wanna haul water buckets...

So, how long will my 250ml bottle of prime last if I'm treating almost 170 gallons of water per week instead of just adding it to the new water?

Do the math!

5ml per 50 gallon prime treats

Say ur tank is 200 gallon ... 5 x 4 (your 200 gallon treated) = 20

250ml divided by 20 = 12.5 water changes

FYI don't waste your money on 250ml bottles. Save up and buy a gallon or at least 500ml bottles next time. I got lucky and stocked up on black friday last year on DR Foster and smith. They had 500ml bottles for $9
