Python Faucet Hook Up

Just got a new faucet, tried to hook up my python, I have the brass adapter that came with it, it did not hook up. Here's a picture, this is with the aerator, it attaches inside, not on the outer part.

You may have to go to a plumbing store. Unfortunately, not all faucets allow attachments. That one looks like it can be modified easily with the right part.

You should be able to unscrew the aerator.

Yea I've unscrewed the aerator, it still doesn't work though, the brass seems like it's getting screwed in, but then it just falls out.

Some faucets have inside threads and some have outside threads, you may need another adaptor, take your aerator to a hardware store to get the correct adapter.
When I moved I have to change adapters also.

Yeah, this one has inside threads, I'll take it and see what they say

Used to be, a Python would hook up to just about any faucet because the faucets mostly all used the same kind of fittings. But lately that appears to have changed. I couldn't hook up to my kitchen sink so I had to go to the bathroom ... where the fitting actually fit. Problem is, if I don't put a towel over the sink when it's hooked up - water splashes all over heck because the bathroom sink is too shallow.

I just screw the python thing very tightly and water won't splash out, IME. I don't use a towel when doing water changes with a python.

I've got to get mine on just the right angle. It's slightly tilted. Maybe that's the case with yours?

It's not a problem with the tightness of the Python fitting - it's the force of the water being discharged out of the bottom of the Python fitting when I am syphoning the tank. In a shallow sink, it will tend to splash all over the walls of my bathroom.

It's not really a problem at all when filling from the python, because the water discharge valve outlet is closed when filling so that the tap goes to the tank.

Oh, I see. I thought you were talking about the water coming out from the part where you screw the thing to the faucet.

Yeah I've been using my bathroom sink for now, the only problem is it starts flooding really fast and I'm scared it would over flow, so I keep having to run and go look at the sink, other than that it's fine.

I had the same problem but bought a faucet to garden hose adapter at Walmart for 6$ and that fixed it.

Maybe try making a small hole in a paper plate and fitting that over the brass connector before attaching the python to control splashing and keep the water in the sink?
