Save your amature advice for someone else....If you knew anything about me at all you would know Patron was not "Saved" he was bought from a very reputable source..I didn't purchase him for breeding....This whole thread on my boy breeding was all in fun.....The people on this forum adore their pets and are not into the breeding end of it.....You are the 1st person since I joined to pop up with the whole breeding lecture....

Let me explain something to you...If I were to decide to breed fish (which I won't) I KNOW what steps to take....I have bred MANY Champion dogs..I know the proper steps to take in planning a breeding and how to produce CHAMPIONS!

47.jpg

I've seen newbie dog breeders act just like you...They think they know it all and go around and insult people....When you ask them about their accomplishments they can't provide any because they don't have any!

Another thing to consider....If you are going to become a breeder you may not want to pick your stock off a photo from Aquabid....A photograph can be deceiving...You need to see the fish in person and know its pedigree..

Now I'm done responding...If you would like to keep talking on my boy feel free to copy and paste his photo onto a betta breeding forum and have a ball trying to figure out how anyone could breed a HUMPBACK betta!

It is ashame that again, you take a differing opinion as a personal attack and act in kind. There is no need to get so defensive and personally attack me for my observations and opinions because they differ from yours.

Have you ever heard of a man named Stuart Scott? What about R C Christman? They don't have pictures of their fish, and their accomplishmens but they were both IBC presidents. Ever heard of a man named Jack Schendowhich? He is the IBC grand champion this year, but he can't show you a single picture of his fish and accomplishments.

Just because I have nothing to show you doesn't mean my points are not vaild.
Maybe one day you will see that what I said was not meant to bad mouth you or your fish, but voiced out of my concern, and you will not feel the need to attack me.

Breeding dogs and breeding bettas are much alike in that you need to know your conformation standards in order to breed champion fish. It because I have learned those standards that I make my assessment of your fish. It is not insulting him or you, it is staing my opinion based in the IBC stanards. I may not be known by you, but I am known by many, and though it would be nice if I could show you pictures of my home bred fish, that just isn;t possible. However, I am secure enough in my knowledge and abilities to be a part of forming a betta club in Canada, and I am determined to help insure that this club does put on IBC sanctioned shows.

In this pic there looks to be a bump.

In the pics you just posted it is less prominint...

I'm sory if you think my post was rude but I was trying to look out for the betta.

I'm just wondering why it matters to you begin with? NOT that I know a darn thing other than I love my betta's...but what business is it of yours to begin with?

although Id still like to bring my kegarator to see patron and the "ghost fem" in the making make some cute lil kiddies

We do not come on this forum and make rude comments about each others pets no matter what, I do not care what the purpose is. If you had read the entire thread you would have noted that the betta was not going to be bred and if you had seen all of the pictures of him that I have seen you would know that he does not have a "lump on his head" he is perfectly fine. This is a rude post and I am sorry to say that you owe her an apology.

I'm my personal view Patron should not be breed. Hes agreat pet but there seems to be a large bump on his head. This is not what bettas should have and you chance spreading it to other bettas.
Please combine this post with the one below as I intended to add it to the one I posted below.

Shawnie it matters to me because every one who posted on his topic thought the fish was “perfect” and would make great breeding stock. This is not so and I don’t want any one to make this mistake. If some one goes out and buys a fish similar to this thinking that its “perfect” they are sadly mistaken and are being scammed. I don’t want to see a new breeder think that this is ok and go out and pay a lot of money for nothing. This “reputable” breeder should not be selling that fish for normal prices and I hope you did not pay full price…

I’m glad that I have gotten though to one person and that’s what make this worth it. Thanks Hatchet

Rose This is not a rude comment its just a fact. I do not think I owe any one an apology. I was not “attacking” any one just stating a fact that you need to be aware of. If anything I was the one who was “attacked”.

Leafgirl, you are young..and I appreciate this...it was a JOKE about breeding them..we are adults who sometimes forgets young ones are here......trust me...relax, have fun, and just remember that this forum isn't a judgemental place, or a place that knows all..we share our knowledge to the best of our ability, and we always learn off one another daily...rudeness even by young ones not knowing any better, isn't nice nor appreciated...

he is perfect..all OUR betta's are...just relax darlin...life gets way more difficult and much more worrysum with age

Boy Shawnie................you sure have a way with words.. You are to be applauded.............. I will however like to add, and I'm certainly no expert but everyone of our betta's (6) will arch and at times appear exactly like Patron............I just sat in front there tanks and watched and noticed the same exact posture time and again. If its a defect, then all of mine are defective. Just my 2 cents.

Yes Mother Goose, you do have a way with words...I'm sure it went in one ear and out the other though lol...

Patron was not on the clearance rack......He was not even on sale....He was full price and was very expensive.....I feel he was worth every penny...He is a stunning Betta boy and everyone who sees him loves him (except the "judge" Leifgirl) O'well..You can't please everyone right!

Thank you everyone who came to Patrons defense...I feel this whole thing is rediculous and I still can't believe what has come out of her mouth....She doesn't need to apoligize to me...Her amature opinion means nothing to me....All that matters is that he is loved by little O'l me

Dave or Rose, Can one of you please lock this thread so we can get back to more important things on the forum like helping people and sharing stories and photos....

Thank you, Karen

I've done the IBC judge training thing with some of the top IBC judges in North America and if Patron were to be bred, he would throw pretty well. Looks like Rose beat me to closing the thread, but Patron IS show quality.
