Purchased A Sick Betta

He has such pretty scales and the front view picture is great! Do you think he's going to turn black or stop at a dark grey? It's amazing what a week or two of good care can do to a fish.

Thank you! He's my most photogenic fish. I swear, sometimes I think he's posing lol.

I'm not sure. In dimmer light he has this royal blue sheen to him, brighter light it's an aquamarine color. Some of his scales are black (if you go back to the very first post he's got one black scale, lol) and he has dark black in his tail. It's really a guessing game. I'm just glad I didn't name him Casper, lol.

I think he's gonna turn out to be a light blue with black spots. I don't think he's marbled though.

He is looking a blue green with darker in the fins! Looks like his head could stay pink! I love this!!! So nice to see a sick betta recover in someone's care! And hooray for poop!

He's just too darn cute. Look at his little pouty mouth.

Wow ! Is that the same fish??? Seriously though, great job! I'm getting a betta for my kitchen soon. I wonder if the PetsMart manager would let someone have an obviously super sick betta for free? For the promise of good care, especially if you bought some medicine?

Yes, same fish! Here's a transformation collage. Top left is the first day, bottom right is today. 12 days apart!

Sometimes I do think Petsmart "adopts out" fish. I've personally never done it at Petsmart, but have at PetValu. I asked at a Petco once and was told "not typically, but I'll take him in the back to treat him" yeah, okay. That fish was worse off than my guy, I really felt I should've pushed for him, but, you can't save them all.

Gonna pull what my boy did. He was almost pure white when I got him. He's dark blue now.

My betta that I'm dealing with fin rot... white when I got him and a rich, dark blue now. Your's looks gourgous.

Thank you so much, everyone. Your encouragement has been so kind. SushI is definitely out of the woods and is enjoying his time here me. This might be one of my last posts on this thread, unless he pulls another color stunt on me, lol.

Thanks again, everyone!
