Corydork
- #1
I need a little assistance with my choice of Puffer fish.
Long story short, my 8 year old betta is on his way out (yes, he has been with me for 8 years).
I used to have him in a 10 gallon, but I now use that tank for Platy and cory fry. He’s currently in a 5 gallon with a ton of bladder and rams horn snails.
I’m not expecting him to make it to March, which is unfortunate, but he’s lived a good (and obviously healthy) life. He’s sitting at the bottom in no visible pain, but he cannot swim and just scoots along the substrate. When he passes, I’m looking to re-scape the tank to make it more suitable for a Puffer fish. I had my mind set on a pea Puffer, but when I got on aquaticarts today to place my order, I saw a new Puffer for sale: the Red-tailed, red eye dwarf Puffer, which gets just a little over the size of the pea Puffer.
What are you guys’ (and gals’) thoughts on the fish for a 5 gallon? I’m on the fence about it and want to see what you all say.
