I'll do one for tank decorations. Take pics of offer tonight. Hmm, have to think of random contest idea. OK, got it. Send a post about a random act of kindness you did today for someone. The someone can be a stranger, co-worker, or family member. The winner can then R.A.O.K. something off. Sounds fun, right?! Has to be something you did today, or the day you post a response.

 

You should make a new thread for it, so people will see it Something else fun might be if you allowed random acts of kindness towards the person too, not just done by the person, but that's just my opinion

I don't do a lot of ROAK ok, here's one for today.

I was at school and someone was about to walk out of the library but there hands were full and they were struggling to carry everything so I went and opened the door for them.

Here is mine :

The company I work for frequentlly takes on temporary workers. They come through a temp. agency, which means the company pays the same amount an hour as they do for us hired on people, but after the agency takes their cut, the workers make about half as much as we do. If the temp workers can learn th job, when a spot opens up, they get hired on, but they have a very strict attendance policy. Many of the workers are coming from being unemployeed or minimum wage jobs and do not have a car. Public transit here isn't the greatest, it shuts down early and outside of the city limits it isn't easy to get around.

Last year a couple of workers both got close to being fired for being late/abcent uee to a lack of transit. No one at work lived right by them, nor where they on anyones way to work. For both workers, I offered to drive them to and from work until they got a car. I ended up driving each to work for a few montths, I really enjoyed it, it was a nice way to bond a bit with the people I work with.

 

One of my favorite RAOK to do is whenever you are at a grocery store or supermarket (anything with candy bars at the cashier's isle) is pretend to be looking for a candy bar, and ask the cashier their favorite, then buy it for them! Its usually only a dollar or so and it makes someone else happy for an entire shift.

This did backfire on me before, as one time my cashier had gastric bypass surgery and wasn't allowed to eat candy ...

When kinezumI offers a RAOK contest, then kinezumi's rules/ideas should apply. I think if someone starts the contest and states their rules, then we should follow their rules. It's not rocket science, people.

Today I was in the line at the grocery store and the person in front of me was short by just over $1 on his groceries. After watching him get into a little bit of a fluster as he couldn't decide what to put back I payed the difference, it wasn't much money but I could see him getting embarrassed by the situation so it was nice to help him out.

We have a lot of homeless in my area, it happened to be storming today, while I was in the dollar tree, so I picked up a small umbrella for myself. When I went outside there was an older man asking if anybody had any blankets or change they could spare, most of the stores on the strip wouldnt let him stay inside so it was a pretty no fun situation for him. What could I do, gave him the umbrella and a box of poptarts. (I really don't need the poptarts anyways )
