Propagate water wisteria

HI I have water wisteria in my 5 gallon that reached the top weeks ago. How do I cut it to replant? Can I just cut anywhere (like halfway down the plant) in the stem and stab it back in the substrate?

 

That's what I do, and it works!

 

Yup. Tat's the best way to cultivate it. Be sure to cut it just below a leaf segment and remove the bottom leaves. It's basically a weed and is rather hard to kill. Good luck.

 

And I leave the old one where it is and it keeps growing?
