Prime alternative review...

Ok. So I have been using fraction lately. So far, I would say that the mixture does NOT affect oxygen as much for my fish and it does NOT stink. It seems like a much better product. Now, How well it works against ammonia and nitrite, I do not know.

So far so good and I have replaced seachem prime!

I'm super not a fan of the other stuff. Some of It got spilled on the floor and was basically overwhelming to even walk thru the downstairs.

 

OK, I will try to remember! Today was the first day I got to try out the nitrite and ammonia reducing abilities. My clown loaches gills were less red than prime (slightly, but looked significantly less), than usual when I do a huge water change (which adds a lot of the bad). [I changed 80-90% of the water; this adds 3PPM of ammonia and 2PPM of nitrite]. I also have to turn off my filters until the water is mostly full in the big tank because they can't run dry.

However, that was just one time and I will keep updating!

I noticed that my fish seemed much less erratic and more like they usually are. Normally they swim in the new water very erratically at first, but not today. Again, I think it has to do with oxygen, but not really sure.
