Previously used salt water tank harmful to freshwater?

I'm considering upgrading my tank. I have my eye on one going for a fair price online, but it was previously used as a marine tank. Will this affect the freshwater fish I put in there in any way? If so, what can I do to clean the tank thoroughly?

Speedy replies would be appreciated as there are only a few days left on the auction

I have dozens of salt water tanks that I have cleaned and converted for freshwater use with no issues.

Thanks for the quick responses. Will vinegar work?

Good morning,

Vinegar should help. Personally, I would use a bleach/water solution, 1 part bleach to 19 parts water to make sure everything is sterilized. This should remove any unwanted critters that may be lurking around .
