A good way to get rid of them is to put a cucumber slice in the tank before you go to bed, and when you wake up in the morning most of the snails will be on there. You can then throw the snails away along with the cucumber (poor babies). It'll take a few times to get rid of them, and even then there could still be some hiding out, but it's better than a full on snail explosion

Are you looking for a way to get rid of them? The reason they population is getting bigger is because there is food for them too eat. This could be a sign of overfeeding.
A way to try and get rid of them is to put a piece of veggie like lettuce, spinach, or zuchinnI for several hours then take it out with the snails attached to it.

This doesn't work if you have live plants in your tank I've found. I made a snail trap which will catch a few overnight, but end up plucking them by hand mostly

Personally, I found assassin snails to work incredibly well in a 10 gallon planted tank that I had an outbreak in. Plus, after the 2 of them finished off the >100 pond snails, they stuck around just eating whatever extra food they could find. Dont eat plants and don't reproduce quickly. It is thought, at least, that they need the protein they get from eating other snails in order to reproduce.

What size tank? Yeah as mentioned when you have a snail population explode that means your over feeding.
