Is there any way to tell how long this fish has been pregnant?

No not really. Do you know when she was last in a tank with males? You could count from then.

I actually bought her today. She is swimming all over the tank.
Will she stay near the bottom when shes about to gove birth?

Some do and some don't. She will get huge and kind of squared off in front when she gets ready to deliver. I've had them deliver 28 to 35 days.

If you have lots of plants real or artificial you will have more survive. Even mom will eat her fry so hiding places will save the babies.

One of my mollies gave birth last week and even with hiding places and a lot of plants, the fry were gone in 2 weeks. I have a 5 gallon ready for the fry. I guess i will just have to wait.
