Pregnant or not pregnant, that is the question ;)

HI all, I'm new here.
I think I have officially become addicted to guppies

A few weeks ago I bought a male and a female guppy. The male died while in quarrentine but the female is happily swimming around in the main tank right now.

Now here's the thing, the current female was housed together with the males at the pet store which she came from, and there was a lot of guppies in there.

By looking at the gravid spot she gives the impression that she's pregnant, I thunk I've had her for about 3-4 weeks now and surely if she was pregnant she would look a lot more developed by now,
I'm just confused as she has a darkish gravid spot but....
I don't know :/

Sorry to all if I'm repeating a frequently asked question.

Here she is...

Sorry about bad quality, I'm using tapatalk...

I can't seem to upload anymore right now, my Internet is being annoying, so I'll try again tomorrow, sorry :/

But yeah, is there a chance she's pregnant?
The only other thing I can think of is that she had a miscarriage recently and now she's started again using the same sperm?

Thank you in advance

Welcome to Fishlore!!!

Was she bigger when you first got her? Although she can store sperm for some time, she doesn't look pregnant now. If she was bigger before, she could have had the babies and ate them herself. If you are going to have them and want babies, stock them 1m to 3-4f so your females won't be harassed to death. Shes a pretty girl!

Thankyou!
The plan was to get a male and 2 or mabey 3 females but we could only afford one at the time, no she wasn't bigger before, at least I don't remember her being bigger,
I'll try and post an earlier pic of her soon, sorry...

Your guppy doesn't really look pregnant but you never know if she has stored sperm!

She does have a gravid spot, so I think she is pregnant, just in the very first stages. I'd say you have at least a month before she drops.

Okay, guess what! I bought that male along with another (HUGE!) female, the male is so small compared to the large female but he still 'had a go at it'
If u know what I mean...
yay I'm excited now! tehe

I think early when you got her she dropped but it may of been early in the night and she ate them (maybe w/ the male in quarintine) and now she may have more again. Also if you have 1f and 1m right now, you need to get 1f-2f more at least. It's so fun raising guppy fry!
