Hi! I just bought 4 new corydoras for my 16 gallon planted tank. I noticed that one of the Corydoras belly was really bulged and I think it pregnant. The corydoras also does not really move or eat. However, it still goes to the top of the tank and gets oxygen and moves every once in a while. It also hangs out next to the other corydoras. I am seeing this activity after 5 hours of introducing them into the tank. Is the corydoras pregnant? And is it normal for it to be like that?

Also sorry if the pictures are low quality I took it on my phone and fishlore does not really like .heic images

Thank You

Female corydoras that are full of eggs do not lose activity, at least not significantly, and most definitely do not lose apetite, so even if it is carrying eggs, there's something else going on that is bothering it.

Than I think it is due to the introduction to the tank. Most other fish that I got don't really move that much in the begging of the intro process. I will wait until tomorrow, and give an update. I also do think its pregnant because of how bloated it is. It definitely doesn't have any sort of dropsy because there isn't any pineconing. And also, it was like that in the petstore. So my guess is that it got pregnant there.

They do't get pregnant but females simply carry eggs that are fertilized after being laid. The babells seem short btw

yea i think the barbel got a little damaged in the pet store. But I think it should grow back because the current water conditions are pretty good. I think if I give it some time it should be back.

UPTATE: The fat Corydoras is actually doing really well right now! The smaller corydoras (probably 5 months old from the store) are of course even more active though. However, the small ones are swimming up and side ways in the glass. Is this normal?
