Question Pre Filter Sponge

what’s everyone’s thought’s on pre filter sponges? I’ve got a fluval 206 and want to find a sponge that fits on my intake.

So would that fit my intake? I’ve done a lot of research and it’s a toss up. Some people say they cause problems and some love them.

You can buy a block of sponge and cut it to fit. And when you need to remove it if you place a net under it when you remove it you will catch a lot of the waste so it doesn't go all over the tank.

I have used them for years. I replace them every 6 months. Clean twice a month. The keep debris out of your filter. Also, they help keep floating plants like Duckweed from being sucked up.
