I just purchased a pair of sunsun powerheads rated at 800gph for my 55gal mbuna tank , to circulate the dead spots and push the debris into filter. Just wanted to know if anybody has expiernce with powerheads. Do you keep them on 24/7? Do I have to much gph or is fine for mbuna?

You may find that you will need only one, since a flow rate that roughly 10x the size of the tank seems to do well in most setups (aka filter and powerhead roughly equating to 550g/h).

Its your choice if you want to leave the the powerhead running all night long, when I had one I use to leave it running 24/7, but if you prefer to turn it off - find it noisy, want fish to have 'calm waters' (which they be fine either way!) or to save power - then you could without issue.

oh okay thanks ill take note of that. I already put them in the tank, I put one near the surface and one below, I really like the flow rate and I notice the debris clear out right away and also the fish seem to like it
