Powerhead For Circulation In 60g

So I'm upping the number of plants in my tank, so I think I need to get a powerhead to make sure there is still enough circulation. This is my tank now:

And this is the plan:

I have another thread that explains what all the plants will be, but my question is about the powerhead. On the right the long black bar is the filter output, and the smaller block is the input. I was thinking that the best place to add a powerhead would be on the left wall of the tank, but I wanted to get your opinions on that.

I'm worried that I'll end up creating a whirlpool that'll be too strong my fish, which include cories, neon tetras, guppies, BN pleco, harlequin rasbora and soon to add an apisto pair and possibly a gourmai.

So what do you think? Is the placement alright? Is one enough? What brand and size powerhead should I get? Thanks

Nice tank and avatar (How did you get a pic of my cat?) . Ok, so just a relative newbie here. I have 55 Planted Community. Noticed some dead spots. I used a chopstick with 4 strands of thread tied to it to check the flow /circulation. Picked up a nano powerhead. Same dilemma, where to put it. I have a similar setup filter intake left side about 2 inches above substrate and spraybar top right side with stream causing ripples on the surface. After some research and trial and error decided the best spot for the powerhead was the intake side back corner about about 3 inches from the surface. I did notice a little strange behavior of some of the fish when first installed it appears they did not like the constant flow. So, I decided to put the powerhead on a timer, about 15 mins every couple of hours. Now all the inhabitants enjoy/benefit from the added circulation including the plants. No more dead spots.

Do you have the input and output (of the same filter) on the same side of the tank? If so, that would be the first thing to do, put them opposite each other. If not, just ignore me, good luck.

Also, do you need a concentrated flow or just circulation?

I personally prefer wave makers over powerheads since the flow they produce isn't like a jet.

Highly recommend the input and output on opposite ends of the tank.

The input and output are on the same side, but they are fixed in place there. It's a Fluval 240 with the filter coming up through the bottom of the tank. So I can't move them.

It's just circulation I want, so would the wavemaker be better?

Good idea with the chopsticks, I might have to try that

Anyone have any suggestions for brand/power of powerhead/wavemaker?

Try Hydor's wave makers, (optional) you can also buy a remote for the wave makers.
I think they're great, I'm going to recommend them.

Do you reckon the nano 900 would do it?

What does the remote do?

Controls mostly everything, if you have two of them you can put them on a timer.
Like one on for 5min, then the other one, watch the video included on it.

I have just discovered this one thing about this thread.
How come only 'Well Known Members' have posted on this thread?
Shocking!!

I'm just not sure when I'd use it in my situation. I'm going to search youtube though to see what other people do

I can't figure out what the best position for the powerhead would be. Would it be best to put it near the surface on the opposite end of my tank, or deeper down in the tank?

I'd get a Hydor Koralia Nano 425, and experiment with placement until you figure out what works best. I'd start with the opposite end from the intake/output, but really you won't know where is best until you try!
