I purchased a red veiltail betta January 20th and at that time he seemed alright and straight up red in color. The past week or so I’ve noticed that he looks like he’s breathing heavily and his underside near his head is turning silverfish and his eyes are getting cloudy. He still swims around and eats just fine but I’m not exactly sure what’s wrong. My other betta hasn’t had any problems so I’m wondering if he was sick when I bought him. He’s in a 10 gallon tank with a heater set to around 78-80°F. I have been doing 25-50% water changes and adding melafix and ickguard (haven’t tried aquarium salt yet) along with siphoning the substrate. If anyone knows what’s wrong with him and/or how to treat him please let me know. Thanks

I thought that before but he doesn’t have the blood and dark markings at the edge of his fins (or really any symptoms) for it to be fin rot, thanks for assisting though!
