Possibly Sick Betta?

    • What is the water volume of the tank?
    Tank holds 5 gallons
    • Does it have a filter?
    Yes
    Yes
    • What is the water temperature?
    77 Fahrenheit
    • What is the entire stocking of this tank? (Please list all fish and inverts.)
    1 Betta fish

    Maintenance
    • How often do you change the water?
    Once a week
    • How much of the water do you change?
    10-15%
    • What do you use to treat your water?
    Nutrafin Aqua+
    • Do you vacuum the substrate or just the water?
    Vacuum the substrate as well as his resting leaves

    Parameters
    • Did you cycle your tank before adding fish?
    Yes
    • What do you use to test the water?
    API Ammonia 130-Test, 5-in-1 API test stripes (used solely for nitrate/nitrite test due to lending the liquid tester to a friend), Aquarius Complete Test Kit for Chlorine and PH (meant for pools but used as ph tester for aquariums)
    • What are your parameters? We need the exact numbers, not just “fine” or “safe”.
    Ammonia: Appears slightly above the yellow (0) but not nearly as green as the 0.25.
    Nitrite: 0
    Nitrate: 20
    pH: 8 (normal for this tank)

    Feeding
    • How often do you feed your fish?
    1-2 times a day
    • How much do you feed your fish?
    Up to 3 pieces a day, occasionally 1-3 freeze dried blood worms in place of normal food if he is bloated
    • What brand of food do you feed your fish?
    Wardley Betta Food, Tetra Freeze Dried BloodWorms
    • Do you feed frozen or freeze-dried foods?
    Occassionally. Once a week or two

    Illness & Symptoms:

    Since roughly September
    • How long ago did you first notice these symptoms?

    Seems to be spots on his chin. Look similar to how dried water looks on glass.
    • Have you started any treatment for the illness?
    Not yet
    • Was your fish physically ill or injured upon purchase?
    No
    • How has its behavior and appearance changed, if at all?
    No changes at all in behavior, only change to appearance is the spots on the chin. Video showing said spots will be posted in comments.

    @NickAu In this video there are spots on his chin when it has previously just been flat black. I could very well be being paranoid though
