Hi-I sent a couple video links but it looks like they got yanked.

If you look up Rachel Oleary on Youtube her videos entitled

Trying to save my very sick, very old Oscar fish

TWO MONTHS of treatment! We saved my Oscar!

I hope Oscar people chime in soon. Only thing I can suggest is stop using Melafix and up water changes to weekly.

Also, have you been feeding live minnows all along?

When did you last change your water? And where are you sourcing the minnows? Did you recently get new ones?

I would first consider a bigger tank. 55g is really pushing it for an oscar. You also need to do water changes far more often with any cichlids. At least once a week with an oscar. 50%. They are incredibly messy.
I would also consider different foods. Minnows, goldfish etc aren't really a natural or nutritious diet for an oscar. Feeders tend to carry diseases. look into a quality pellet food. Maybe more than one. New life spectrum, hikari etc.
With your current setup, he may just be stressed from not having enough room. They do tend to be pouty and lazy at times. There is a thing called old tank syndrome. its basically caused by insufficient nitrate removal (thru water changes). Since you stated you only do 25% once per month it is very possible you ran into this. Good luck
