HI all, I bought a 1.5 gallon (7 litre) nano tank and, not realising exactly how small it would be, wound up ordering a 29 litre tank soon after. Upon seeing my very happy 29 litre set up with 6 Endlers Livebearers and blue diamond shrimp, my father-in-law wanted an aquarium of his own, so I said he could have the 7 litre and could probably put something like a couple of tetras in it with some shrimp, but that would be about all. I thought he'd listen, but I was wrong.
Last week, I got a phonecall to say that his guppy had eaten his shrimp. He now has three guppies in a 7 litre tank and when he went to the pet store this afternoon, they refused to sell him anything else for the simple reason that his tank was overstocked. Understandable, of course, even if he cursed the poor woman out. He's now talking about buying a larger tank.
I've told him that if he doesn't want the 7 litre tank then I would like it back (it did cost me about £50 with the heater). I thought about a betta fish but it's too small by at least a gallon, and they need soft water whereas mine is hard. Shrimp are fine, but we have some in the larger tank so I'd really like to look for something else, if at all possible?
Many thanks!
