Male dwarf gourami has a whitish spot on head. Not sure if it is HITH in early stages or if he got in a spat with my female dg. They usually get along though. He is still eating and flirting like normal.

I have had a HITH scare once and one actual case of HITH. The scare looked a lot like this. Seems like he was just chasing someone and banged into something hard in the process. Just up your water changes to help it heal, remove ammonia, and give your tank time to establish. Might wanna add melafix to avoid secondary infections, but more frequent water changes while he is healing is what will really help. Monitor and if your water is clean, you should see significant improvements within the week.

Also, it doesn't look very "pitted" which makes me think it is a scratch. HITH is more common in cichlids also. I think you are safe. Good luck!

Hi, I think it's far more likely the other Gourami than HITH. Are you sure the other is in fact a female?
