Possible Betta ich from plants?

Hello all, I think my Betta possibly has ich on his small front fins, looks like little white dots and I just noticed them today. I don't have a pic/vid because it's just too hard to get one because he won't stop moving! The only thing that I have done differently is a few days ago I got some frog bit online and added to the tank. I rinsed them off but that was it, could it possibly have come from the plants? I've never had ich before this, he only has maybe 3 or 4 spots on him so it's still early.

 

Does he look like if he's trying to scratch on tank decorations? A picture would definitely help, but if you can't get one, maybe try a video? You can use streamable to make a link to the video.
Raising temperature and treating with aquarium salt could help if it is ich. Does he have any tank mates or live plants in the tank with him?

Also are you talking about the 2 dots by his left fin? It doesn't look like ich to me, it looks more like his coloring maybe. You should still keep a close eye on him just in case. Btw do the dots like cotton like or are they just flat white dots?

Yes, Red is quite feisty! I will try to fill out the form tomorrow on my computer, I’m on my phone now so it might take me a while to do it that way. Water parameters at least are PH 7, ammonia .25, nitrites 0 nitrates .5. The tank just finished cycling, the only new things are the plants. I added some treatment tonight so I will see how he looks in the morn. He only seems to have 1 spot on 1 fin and maybe 3 on the other.

 

Ok thanks. So post temp when you can. I did not see spots on fins-he is too fast! Hopefully someone else will see what you are talking about so you can treat immediately if necessary.

I think you are not cycled with those readings. Ammonia should be 0 and nitrates 20 or under, ideally.

Tank size, and temp?

If you can post some pics showing the white dots in the meantime...I know you're on your phone but whatever you can do as the ich should be verified sooner rather than later.

Sorry, I think I wrote it wrong, my nitrates are at 5 and the ammonia is between 0-.25, it’s hard to tell with the api kit. I will try my hardest to get pics tomorrow, the tank is about 77 degrees

Yeah, so goes the fun of fish photography.

 

These are the best pics I could get so far, I have another video as well if it would help. The spots still only seem to be on those small fins. He’s still acting normal, water temp is about 78. I know I’ve heard that upping the temp would help but I’m not sure how because my heater is a preset one. I’ve got another I can put in the tank but it’s preset too..last night I added some imagintarium parasite medicine and took out the carbon. I will try to get some salt today, would the api aquarium salt be good?

For some reason I didn’t get notifications for this thread. Sorry I didn’t respond earlier.
I can’t really tell if that’s actually ich. It doesn’t really look like it too much. I don’t know much about the medicine, but if it is ich it would probably help and yes, api aquarium salt would work.

 

So I've been adding Seachem Paraguard the last few days to see if that would help clear up the white spots, but they just seem to be staying there. It's a little hard to tell what it is, but I managed to take a slow-mo video to hopefully try to see it better. It's odd because the back of the fins in the same spots are white too, could he possibly be changing color? The spots along his body and his accents are definitely a light blue, but the spots are white. The tank parameters are still good as far as ammonia, nitrite/nitrates. My tank finally cycled, so I don't think it's a water issue

My betta also has a small white dot on his mouth (kind of looks like a tooth lol). He had it ever since I had him, it's not growing, and it doesn't affect him in any way. I attach a picture of it later.

No it doesn't seem like the spots are getting bigger or bothering him at all, he's acting perfectly normal, it's just odd that they appeared out of nowhere!

It is pretty odd. Here are the pictures of the white dot my betta has on his mouth. Sorry they’re not the best quality. It’s hard to take a close up picture of his mouth lol.

Yes taking pictures of them is so hard! But they do look like that, I wonder what in the world it could be? But I guess as long as their not hurting them it's ok, I'm going to just keep an eye on my little Red!

I have know idea what it could be. Maybe coloring? Maybe tiny tumors (hopefully not)? Whatever it is, if it’s not affecting them, it’s probably fine. I’ll also keep an eye on my betta too
