Possible beginning of Ick?

First off, I can't get a picture. My camera is too junky and the there are very few ick dots.

The symptoms are only in one tank, and I can't figure out why they would be getting it, but anyways..

The stock is 5 Red Micropoecilia Picta, 1 nerite, and 5 Aspidoras Albaters. Two types of fish that aren't readily available, especially the Picta, and I definitely don't want to lose any fish!

Tank Specs: Bare bottom with quite a bit of floating wisteria and a new unknown floating plant from Petsmart. New plants can't carry ick, correct? I guess I should have bleach dipped.

The fish: Just last night I had a mysterious Aspidoras death. The Aspidoras would act weirdly for a day or two, but then would act perfectly fine for about a week. This happened for two weeks. Last night I found him dead. He had seemed to be acting okay... Not sure if it could be related to the ick problem.

The picta are what seem to be showing "ick". I noticed about 2-3 weeks ago that a juvenile had a single white dot on his fin. Then, the adult female got 2-3 dots during this week. It seems like she has maybe gotten 3-4 more since last night. It looks as though none of the Aspidoras have it, but 4\5 picta seem to.

The problem: I have an unadjustable heater and salt also cannot be used since there is catfish and a snail also in the tank. So, what should I do? If I need to buy an adjustable heater, I will.

Also, are Ick treatments safe for catfish? I have Wardley Rid Ick and Mardel Coppersafe.

Kordon ich attack is safe for inverts and scaleless fish like otos ago it may be safe for your fish. I have used it previously with good results. Good luck!

As ich cannot be treated while it is attached to the fish, I recommend purchasing a small, adjustable heater.

If interested in reading about the life cycle of ich, follow the link to cure ich naturally.

Good luck with treatment. Hope you are able to save all your fish.

This diagnosis is so hard. In some ways it doesn't look like ich, but almost just small patches of extra slime. There is a dot on her pectoral fin too, so maybe it is ich...

Thanks Dena!
