Position Of Powerhead

So I have a 55 gallon tank. My filter is on the right third of the tank and my powerhead is on the far left side of the tank. I figured that the powerhead would make a current that moves waste towards the filter intake. However directly under the powerhead a lot of the fish waste has pooled together.

Do you think that I should move the powerhead to the right of the filter to reverse the current? The current seems to go from the top left of the tank to the top right, then down, and then bottom right to bottom left, and then stops.

Sorry if I'm not being that clear. I am just thinking "out loud."

What type of filter you got?

I think a Marineland Penguin 200. And then a powerhead that’s rated for 55 gallon tanks. I can’t remember the brand for the powerhead.
