Poor duck :(

Well me and my sister were on our way home from the movies a while ago (night) and we saw something on the road right on front of us. We looked closely and it was a duck just Laying in the middle of the road. Strange right?, so we go out of the car and went closer. It was a little duck. It tried to run away but it was limping a little. We didn't know what to do If we should leave him or take him home with us. We felt really bad because if we would leave him. Chances are that he could die or get badly injured ( knowing he couldn't walk well) so we took him home and saw that he was injured. We decided to put him in our dog cage and give him a blanket and some food. We also gave him water. Here he is, poor duck

We don't quite know how badly it is (not wanting to hurt him). We are keeping him through the night so in the morning we can call animal control to help him out. I really hope he gets better.

I would look for a local wildlife rescue/rehab. Animal control may just try to euthanize, while a wildlife rehab will treat then release

poor duck. hopefully he makes a quick recovery! I have heard of people keeping ducks as pets before, but that was a keeping-ducks-with-their-chickens kind of thing. best of luck!!

Well the duck is doing okay. We brought him outside for a little bit so he can get some fresh air. We are gonna have to wait till tomorrow because all of the wildlife rescue centers are closed today

Thanks. He is doing good, he's walking around. It looks like he has an injured wing.

I have such a love/hate relationship with ducks but its always sad seeing them in injured.

When I did my community service hours in high school at an animal hospital we got a lot of injured ducks/turtles. Although I couldn't do anything but clean cages/enclosures most seemed to healed quickly and healhy.
