PonzLL have you ever been scuba diving? Sorry, sometimes I can’t tag

I have! Went a couple times as a kid with my mom, just in the local lake. I couldn’t get used to breathing underwater like that.

Interstellar!

I've watched it probably 15 times. It's pretty much my go-to whenever someone comes over and wants me to push the home theater for them

How many tanks do you have? How many gallons? What livestock?

I have 4 aquariums and 3 jarrarium.

The smallest is a 5 gallon tank with a female betta, ghost shrimp, and some various snails. That's my son's tank but he's 6 so I do most of the helping.

Next smallest is a 10 gallon shrimp tank. Currently it's loaded with ghost shrimp, but I plan to convert to RCS once I finish switching to good water. This one is heavily planted.

Next is a 20 long with 22 harlequin rasboras, a nerite snail, and 2 baby dalmation mollies. This one is also heavily planted.

Last aquarium is a 40 breeder with gold gourami, mollies, and zebra danios. It has some ghost shrimps and snails too. Also heavily planted. The two biggest tanks have diy co2 using citric acid.

My jarrarium are all 1 gallon or less, planted, and filled with snails. One has a pair of ghost shrimp I raised from birth.

What is your favorite fish and why?

Iverg1 it's gotta be BoesemanI Rainbow. I love the color pattern on them, and how they look in a big school. I had a single one in a 29 gallon tank that was poorly stocked back in around 2012 before I ever started actually properly researching fish requirements and care. He did well, but I know now you need at least a few, and a much bigger tank. Currently I don't have a large enough tank, but I'm patiently waiting for a great deal on a giant tank to fall in in my lap. I'll stick that in the basement and fill it with em!

What is your favorite place? Place you wish you could go too? Favorite state?

PonzLL
  • #12
My favorite place I’ve been was Yellowstone. I love camping and hiking and think it would be so cool to go spend a couple weeks with just a blanket between me and the stars.

Place I wish I could go to? Space lol. I never actually grew out of wanting to be an astronaut I guess. Haha

I’ve been to maybe 40 states. I think my favorite was Colorado as a kid. Very fond memories of my time in the Rockies.

That said, I live in Michigan and it’s honestly an incredible state. We have so many cool things here.

What is your speciality on Fishlore?

PonzLL
  • #14
I wouldn't say I have a specialty because I'm still learning every day like most here, but I like to think that I'm pretty good at helping to introduce the nitrogen cycle to people new to fishkeeping.

I think I'm pretty good with some DIY stuff too.

Actually ok, I haven't seen anyone else here 3d printing aquarium stuff lol I guess that's my specialty here.

If you had an unlimited amount of money for 24 hours what would you do?

PonzLL
  • #16
I guess that fully depends on what kinds of restrictions are placed on what I can do with it

If I could just buy a crapload of gold, or invest it in index funds, I'd do that and pull it out later. If I had to buy something else, I guess I'd pay off my house, buy a few cars for myself, and then pay off all of my family's cars, houses, credit card, student loans, etc. If I somehow had time after that, I'd finish pimping out my home theater, build a proper fish room, etc. lol

Waffles or pancakes?

PonzLL

I'll eat either if there's real maple syrup on it! So many calories though lol I haven't had pancakes or waffles in a really long time!

What state that you haven’t been to would you most like to visit?

If money were no object, I'd love to spend a winter in Alaska. I don't know if anyone has seen Alone in the Wilderness Alone in the Wilderness (TV Movie 2004) - IMDb

but that's always been something I'd love to do. I wouldn't go it alone though, but with a few friends who share my interest in the outdoors.

Having just this summer spent a couple weeks in Alaska, I agree winter camping would be awesome. Better make good plans for lighting, though. I was there over solstice and never saw the dark.
