Polar Blue eggs in driftwood cave, what to do?

Hey guys! I'm new here and have found this thread incredibly helpful. Polar Blue Breeding Tank? | Parrot Cichlid Forum | 505503

I need some help though.

I noticed my polar blues guarding some driftwood in my big tank when I look closer the bottom had eggs. I took the driftwood and the parents and put them in a different tank (the big tank is a semi aggressive community and we lost a spawning a week ago) but now the eggs have been moved into a little cave area in the driftwood. I can't tell if they've been fertilized or anything and would love some feedback on what I should do next. A week ago they had some eggs and wigglers but I realized too late and they were all lost. What should I do?

the eggs are brown then they have been fertilized. They will move them if they feel they need to. Don’t worry if you can’t see the babies or you feel they were lost in the rocks. Mom knows where they are and will find them ☺️

They didnt move the eggs...that would be super unusual. Looks like the eggs hatched, and they moved the wigglers. Congratulations!

Ok thank you! I guess we will see what happens next. Should I change their food or anything?

It's so hard to tell!! What do wigglers look like? I can't seem to find any pics online

Congrats to you! Pictures of my wigglers for your reference. And another of them free swimming after a few days. =)

Would have uploaded videos but the files are too big, lol.

Be prepared though, they do not seem to have very good survival rates. At least for me. =(

Make sure u have food ready, infusoria or baby brine shrimp.
My polar mum and dad chews up pellet foods and spits it to them, not sure if they eat it though. They are good parents but may eat up sickly or dead babies.

Ok thank you!! The things I think look like eggs do seem to be wiggling/moving a bit and the mom (I think) is fanning them a lot and hovering over them. Is that normal? I'm going to get the baby brine shrimp as soon as I can to try to help at least a few survive.

Totally normal. Great time to start trying to figure out how to hatch brine shrimp. Should have 4/5 days before they start swimming and eating

I dont think they would move the eggs though. The parents may lay eggs on the walls or surfaces and when they are about to hatch, they will turn a darker brown and drop down onto the ground. After which you may see "bouncing"eggs, which means they are hatching. After a few days, they will become free swimming but will lay low for the 1st week. =)
Yes its normal, dont worry. =)
They probably wont eat til they're all out swimming. But you can also get frozen baby brine shrimp or decapsulated baby brine shrimp eggs in a bottle if its too much hassle to hatch your own.
Oh! And they are very protective of their fry, so try not to touch or go near the tank too much unless they trust you very much, they may get stressed or scared and eat up the babies, thinking there's a threat.
There are no other fish in your aquarium, i hope?

You have some BEAUTIES! I would love some of your fry when they get older if you plan to sell them!
