I have a stone pleco for 4-5 months and just bought a bushnose pleco today. Both are going against each other for a few seconds at a time. The bushnose is 1/3 smaller in size. Is this normal? What should I do? Should i return the bushnose?

That's a Pterygoplichthys, they're very territorial towards other plecs/catfish (it will also grow to 18"+). I would rehome it while you still can and keep the BN.

Geez.... It co-exist with a 2 week long hi-fin pleco.. They never even touched each other. Why does it go after the BN? I know the BN is a bit smaller but . I also had 2 raphales for about a month and the prero never bothered. Returned the raphaels because they were digging the gravel 2 much.

Will they co-exist together? Or is the Ptero going to kill the BN?

It obviously sees the BN as a threat to its "territory" (ie food). Are there other places for the BN to hide up? Maybe it's just using its size advantage... ie it knows it will win?
