Welcome to Fishlore. I have a BN in with a bunch of live plants and it hasn't eaten any of them. It also depends on the type of plants that are in the tank. If the leaves taste good to it, then they will be eatn and vice-versa if they taste bad.

I haven't had any problem with mine eating the plants but if the tank isn't big enough they will bulldoze them over

My pleco hasn't bothered my plants at all. In fact, some of the plants have some green algea growing on them, and the pleco eats it without hurting the leaves.
