pleco fin holes.

I was looking at my pleco today, and for once his fin across his back was up(he just stopped swimming) as I was looking I thought I saw two spots on the fin, but upon closer inspection I see they are two tiny holes, perfectly round though one is ever so slightly smaller, near the base of the fin close to where fin becomes body, like a small staple went through it... I looked at everyone else, their fins appear fine, no fraying or ragged edges, no holes or rips, nothing. Anyone know what could cause perfectly round holes in a pleco fin?

Hmm intersting perfect holes.

What other fish do you have

Are there any sharp decorations

And a photo would be very helpful

I have 2 Mollies and two guppies, and I just freed 7 baby Molly's, but that was after I seen the holes in the pleco. There is nothing Sharp or pokey in the tank. I wish I could upload a photo, but for some reason my phone won't let me, and I don't have a computer. I can't upload photos to any website for some reason.

The pleco is the biggest fish, and will be moving as soon as I can get him to his new owners, and no one else goes near him so I don't think it was caused by them.

Good morning,

I have a Sail Fin Pleco around 12 years old. Over the years, it has developed a pin hole a time or two on the fins and it healed on its own. No clue as to what caused it.

Keep an eye open for secondary infections but more than likely, the fin should mend on its own with pristine water conditions.
