I am waiting on Maracyn 2 for Columnaris in tank. I’ve been using Sulfaplex but not seeing improvement. I read salt can slow down the progression of Columnaris. Can I treat the tank with a bn pleco in it?

What salt does is irritate the skin to make the fish produce more slimecoat. That is their Barrier against pathogens. It dosent really have antibiotic/anti-fungal properties, its just an irritant and helps with minerals /oxydization.
Plecos are catfish and they probably wont like it but then again ive done it before and as long as the pleco is big he should be ok.
