Please Share Your Opinions on How to Improve this Scape

I have a 150 gallon high tech/high light tank. The plants and fishes are thriving, and there is no algae to be seen. But, I feel like it is too simplistic in that it sort of looks like a layered cake in a way. Therefore, it doesn't feel quite as natural as I would like.

I'm currently brain storming ideas on how to improve it. So, please take a look at my pictures and tell me what you think I should do. Thank you.

I like it a lot, but I think some more details might help to do what you want

These are my suggestions,
some smaller twigs to emphasize the branching structure
detail stones in the hairgrass carpet to make the island part feel less isolated and more connected
midground plants to break up a sort of monotony i guess, I used s repens and blyxa japonica in the image

Those are some excellent suggestions. And, I really appreciate the visual aid. Yes, more details and a better transition really would help. I particularly like the idea of the Blyxa and S. repens.

Thank you.

I feel like a lot of people (including me) try to organize aquascapes too much and then we feel like they aren’t complex/natural enough. So I feel like trying to embrace a more chaotic but organized structure will add more complexity!

It looks great and is thriving!

I would also add some smaller detail twigs.
What do you think of a more built up look on the left, sloping down to the river bed as you have it now? Almost a starting point for the riverbank.

If that was mine, I would not be changing it too drastically as it is a pleasure to look at!
