Hello I'm a saltwater beginner and I filled my tank up with tap water and dechlorinated it. I let it sit for an hour then I Put in Instant Ocean salt. My salt is stuck at the bottom and it is almost solid. I have my filters and powerheads running. What should I do? My temperature is at 60 degrees Fahrenheit. I messed up it should have been higher. What should I do? Please help

I have a 55gallon

Hello and welcome!

I hope you resolved this issue by now.

I use RedSea Coral Pro Salt and I follow the instructions, so I am sure you can tailor it to your needs.

Step 1: Add water
Step 2: Turn-on powerhead to mix for 15-30min
Step 3: Warm water to 77 degrees
Step 4: Test salinity

I am guessing you may need to aI'm your powerheads to the bottom of the tank to help dissolve the salt.

I always mix my saltwater in a 5 gallon bucket for 1h before adding to the tank. You can awlays manually mix it or manually use the power head to blow it around until it seems to have dissolved. I just have a bucket with a cheap power head and cheap heater that I leave for an hour mixing until the water is clear and ready
