Please Help! Sick Platy!

It's finished.

Hey guys, so I have a bit of a problem.

I have a female platy fish who has been laying at the bottom of the tank for a couple days now, not really moving, and when she does it's only to eat. All of her fins are tucked in tightly against her, and she's not really gasping, but it's not normal. I also noticed that she's a bit of a weird shape. No white spots or clear fighting marks. She had babies about 2 months ago, defiantly not pregnant again.

Everything in the tank is fine, the water parameters are fine and the 4 other platy fish are doing fine.

Any ideas?

Can you get a clearer picture? It looks from here that she has a "back" issue.

However, you're statement is partially true about her not being pregnant. Generally Platy store sperm for up to 6 pregnancies. Meaning once they are pregnant once, they are pregnant for months after that. So, it is very possibly she is pregnant again. The symptoms sounded very similar to pregnancy, but that picture looks very weird. Platy are very active in their breeding. So it's quite possible, actually almost expected that she would be pregnant again.

This is the best one I can get at the moment, she keeps moving around the tank every so often and lays in a different position.

I've also just seen her wiggle her front fins, but her tail and top one are still basically not moving- don't know if she actually can. She seems to be okay, but just lethargic and I'm worried I might be missing something.

can you put her in a quarantine tank with bare bottom to watch her closely obviously take some of the water out from the tank she is in now and set up a temporary filtering system for her using some of the media also from the tank she is in and just give her some hiding spots i.e. plants for example to keep an eye on her. This will prevent her being picked on or bullied while she is in this fragile state and relieve some of her stress and will help you assess her condition better and go from there.

The way she is laying is not what I'm familiar with pregnancy. Does she have hiding places? Maybe try giving her a place to hide out, see if that helps?
I've bred my Platy a few times now and I'm not familiar with that behavior and style of moving. Then again, it could just be her personality. She seems to have some sort of problem with her "back" like I said earlier, but I'm new to fishkeeping as well. I hope someone else can chime in and identify the problem. I would say give her a hiding place and see how she reacts. She could be stressed due to no spaces.

Tank size and exact parameters?

That is definitely not normal. Looks like swim bladder disorder, with her lying there crookedly. Her gills look red too, so possible ammonia poisoning.

QT her, and do daily 50% water changes. There might not be much left you can do for her.
