I have had this fish for about 3 months now and still don’t know what it is exactly. I purchased it with the Paradise Fish whom died like a month ago. I thought it was a paradise fish but then a friend told me that is a Red Tail Gourmi Fish. But looking at pictures and videos, it looks like neither of them fish. Please help me .

It looks a little like a gourami. But if you say it doesn't resemble the pictures, it might be something else. :/

That’s what I’m trying to find out. It could be a gourmi of some kind but I would like to know exactly.

Your saying it’s a paradise fish which are considered gourami fish as well?

It's a FEMALE Paradise, which is why the color is not as intense and the fins aren't as long. Notice the big round belly, as well.

Without seeing a photo it would be hard to say. Paradise have some variability to their colors, so I can't really say from color alone. A male would have had brighter colors and long filaments on the fins.
