Got a hand-me-down aquarium, and I don't know what kind of fish this is. Thanks in advance!
Thats either a cute little female Platy, or a female swordtail (I can't tell young female Swords from female Platies >.<)
Looks like a female Blue Mickey Mouse Platy (Xiphophorus maculatus) to me.
Why Mickey Mouse? I don't see no ears on her tail
Looks like a platy to me too, very nice blue she has.
She's classified as Mickymouse because she gets darker from the anal fin down. Usually there is a dark navy or black spot in Blues. Reds have maroon or black spots. Sometimes there is a bit of green with the black. I don't know why that's the name, it just is ;D.
yup platy she be!
and thanks for the education as to the name and how they get it rouge!
LOl no problem. I'm full of useless information, remember?
I actually have three of them. It is definately a blue platy.
Its never useless when it teaches.
